Quinta do Vale Golf Resort. “A challenging layout, in a unique natural environment”, Severiano Ballesteros

“A challenging layout, in a unique natural environment”, Severiano Ballesteros The 18 hole golf course was specially designed by the world famous player Severiano Ballesteros, considered European Player of the Century, and who now owns Trajectory, S.L., the company responsible for the project. The Quinta do Vale golf course, which has been designed with the interests of the adjacent property complex in mind, is sure to attract golfers of every level and is a strong candidate for hosting important international championships. Covering an area of 75 hectares, the course is fully integrated into the surrounding natural landscape, taking full advantage of the irregularities of the terrain which give a unique personality to each of the 18 holes. The ambition with which it was designed is evident in the unusual way that the different holes balance each other out and in the singular features which complement and differentiate them: embankments, lakes, bunkers, hillocks, hollows…. Severiano Ballesteros has created a highly attractive course which is characterised by various levels of difficulty that will be a challenge to beginners and test the skill of more experienced players. One of the priorities of the whole project was to take full advantage of the natural possibilities of the Quinta and at the same time to preserve and promote its environmental quality. To ensure these objectives were met, the property development projects have been co-ordinated by the renowned urban and landscape designer, Sidonio Pardal. Natural resource management was another primary concern in this project and this is evident in the way the water in the diverse lakes and lagoons is being recycled and in the way that the flora characteristic of the wetlands is being encouraged and preserved. Around 8 thousand trees of species native to the region have been planted to safeguard the ecosystem and to give the golf course a unique natural landscape. The sustainability of the project is also guaranteed by the implementation of an Environmental Management System, which conforms to the ISO norm 14001. In sum, the promoters of Quinta do Vale Golf Resort, in collaboration with Severiano Ballesteros, have designed a golf course which aims to position itself as one of the top courses in the Algarve and indeed the entire Iberian Peninsula. Relax in the charm of the Club House… The Club House is ideally located in the centre of the resort, and promises to be the social hub of Quinta do Vale. It is an elegant and sophisticated space, an ideal meeting place for golfers and visitors alike. It has spacious changing rooms, a gym, jacuzzi, sauna, private members rooms, bar and restaurant. This charming complex has all the facilities a golfer might need after a round of golf. Besides serving delicious food, the restaurant has superb views over the 18th hole. The spacious terrace is an ideal place for watching competitions or observing the expertise of the professionals deciding the outcome of the game. The golf shop is stocked with the most up-to-date golf equipment and fashion, with all the top brand names. The Club House has a specialised team of staff who aim to ensure your comfort and well being so that you can thoroughly enjoy all that Quinta do Vale Golf Resort has to offer. Influenced by Mediterranean architecture, these properties have been conceived with the comfort of you and your family in mind. The beautifully landscaped spaces are well integrated into the surrounding natural scenery and a refreshing dip is always at hand in the swimming pool. The peace and breeze of the river… For those who wish to combine golf with nautical pleasures, the Quinta do Vale Golf Resort is planning to build a river marina in the Guadiana River. The majestic silhouettes of the flamingos, the flocks of sanderlings, the black swallows, the black-winged stilts pecking along the banks of the lagoons…these are some of the numerous bird species waiting for you at the Quinta do Vale Golf Resort. The Guadiana River has attracted many civilisations and has thus taken an important historic role in the Iberian Peninsula. It is considered to be the most navigable of the Portuguese rivers and along its banks we find a wide range of landscapes, from the long, deserted plains of the Alentejo to the natural reserve areas further south which are home to a wide variety of wildlife. The Ria Formosa Natural Park, with its idyllic scenery and white sandy beaches, holds a special attraction for those who take a boat trip in the Algarve. A pleasant climate with moderate winds makes navigation along the Algarve coast agreeable at any time of the year. The fauna and flora of the many lakes and lagoons along the riverbanks can be observed from the diverse walkways and footpaths planned for the resort, with stone bridges of Roman influence. Peace and tranquillity… Much more than just a tourist complex, the planned Quinta do Vale Golf Resort village promises to be a place of perfect tranquillity, ideal for restful and rejuvenating holidays. On the banks of the Guadiana River, this private holiday village, with 57 fully equipped homes which are supported by a range of infrastructures and facilities, has been conceived for those who wish to invest in their well being and comfort. A charming landscaped garden area with extensive green spaces completes the setting of this unique accommodation. A river marina will allow village residents to arrive by boat and enjoy trips along the Guadiana River and to the nearby beaches and islands of the Ria Formosa Natural Park. Following on from the village, along the valley, is the 18-hole golf course as well as a driving range and a putting green. Designed by the world famous golfer Severiano Ballesteros, this project has been conceived not only to challenge experienced golfers, but also to attract those wanting to take up the sport. The strategic location of the village means that you can take advantage of the serenity of the landscape as well as the lively beaches and marinas along the coast. It is an attractive investment, in the most important tourist region of Portugal. The benefits of investing in the Quinta do Vale Golf Resort are heightened by the fact that its location is in the municipality of Castro Marim, an area of great cultural and traditional heritage, where visitors can experience the best and most authentic delights of the Algarve. Faro International Airport is less than an hour's drive from the Quinta do Vale Golf Resort and the motorways to Seville and Lisbon are within easy reach. Indeed, access to the Resort is easy even at peak holiday seasons. Situated to the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula, Portugal is proud of its reputation as a calm and peaceful land with hospitable people and gentle way of life. The Algarve is the most southern province of this country – a coastal region with a marked tourist influence. Indeed, its 200 km of beautiful beaches, its average year-round temperatures of 17.5 ºC and its 3,065 hours of sunshine throughout the year make it a favourite destination with tourists from around the world. At the eastern end of the Algarve, on the banks of the Guadiana River, which traces a natural border with neighbouring Spain, we find the town of Castro Marim and the Quinta do Vale Golf Resort. Due to its privileged location, there are various possibilities of how to get there. To travel by air, the district capital of Faro has an international airport which can be reached by a 3-hour flight from most European capitals. The modern road network (IP1; A22; International Guadiana Bridge) means that the cities of Seville and Lisbon are just 2 hours’ drive away along virtually traffic-free motorways, even at peak holiday times. The Algarve is also linked to the European network of railways and its many ports and marinas make it easily accessible by sea.
